שפחה מצרית של שרה, בת מלכים לפי המסורה, שניתנה לאברהם לאישה וילדה את ישמעאל. גורשה עם בנה למדבר וכמעט מתה בצמא, עד שנפקחו עיניה וראתה באר מים. חז״ל מזהים את קטורה שנשא אברהם לאחר מות שרה עם הגר עצמה, ״שקיטרה מעשיה ״ ונאים כקטורת, ללמד שחזרה בתשובה ואברהם החזירה לביתו.
An Egyptian handmaid of Sarah, of royal blood by tradition, who was given to Avraham as a wife and bore Yishmael. Cast into the wilderness with her son, she nearly died of thirst until her eyes were opened and she saw a well of water. The sages identify Ketura, whom Avraham married after Sarah's death, as Hagar herself, so named because "her deeds were as fragrant as incense (ketoret)," teaching that she repented and Avraham brought her home again.
