חוקר חקלאות ובוטנאי מזכרון יעקב. ב-1906 גילה בגליל את חיטת הבר, ״אם החיטה״, תגלית שהקנתה לו שם עולמי, והקים בעתלית תחנת ניסיונות חקלאית. במלחמת העולם הראשונה ייסד עם אחותו שרה ועם אבשלום פיינברג את מחתרת ניל״י, שסייעה לבריטים נגד השלטון העות׳מאני. נספה ב-1919 כשמטוסו התרסק מעל תעלת למאנש, בדרכו לוועידת השלום בפריז.
Agronomist and botanist from Zichron Yaakov. In 1906 he discovered wild emmer wheat in the Galilee, the "mother of wheat," a find that made his name worldwide, and he founded an agricultural research station at Atlit. In the First World War he founded, with his sister Sarah and Avshalom Feinberg, the NILI underground, which aided the British against Ottoman rule. He died in 1919 when his plane went down over the English Channel on his way to the Paris Peace Conference.
