The Seleucid Count (Minyan Shtarot)
An ancient year count beginning in 3449 AM (312 BCE), with the rise of the Seleucid Greek kingdom after Alexander the Great. Legal documents and contracts were dated by it, hence its name, the era of contracts. The Sages of the Talmud used it (Avodah Zarah 10a), Maimonides dated his own writings by it, and the Jews of Yemen dated marriage contracts by it into the present day.
