The Western Wall

The surviving retaining wall of the Temple Mount from Second Temple days, nearest of all to the site of the Sanctuary. "The Shechinah has never departed from the Western Wall": the eyes of Israel have turned to it in every generation, and multitudes have prayed there since its liberation in 1967.
